Alex Williamson

Alex Williamson  (b.1990, UK)  received a BAhons in Fine Art from Kingston University in 2012 and an Mlitt in Fine Art Printmaking From Glasgow School Of Art in 2016, now living and working in London. He makes drawings and textiles that incorporate  (and play with) relationships between image and text. His work pulls from traditions of quilting and comedy as a means of finding catharsis and comfort. A search for relief or closure is self-consciously presented as a never-ending absurdist joke.
Recent exhibitions include Better Weather, Xxijra Hii, London (2021), The Sound Of Crickets, Deptford X Festival, London (2019), and SNAKES!!, Mount Florida Gallery and Studios, Glasgow (2019).
